The Kids Art Festival

Kids Art Festival - A free event for the whole family.
Saturday 8th May 10am - 4pm, Rain or Shine

The official opening of the festival will be at 10am. Art workshops and performances begin at 10.30am.

The festival theme for 2010, ‘Art Speaks Many Languages’ not only encompasses art-forms from different cultures, but the different ‘languages’ we use to express ourselves:- painting or weaving, ballet or hip hop, sculpture or storytelling.

Children can drop into any of the workshops and stay as long as they like!

Art Workshops include:
• Clay work
• Street art
• Painting tiles
• Indian paper lanterns
• Making symbolic ‘medals’
• Junk art sculptures
• Maori weaving
• Musical instrument making
• Mask making
• Art from natural materials
• Chinese dragon making
• Chinese martial arts
• Indian dance/drama
• Pacific weaving
• Pacific music and dance

A schedule of times for performances will be posted on the CEAC website from early April.
Bring a picnic lunch or buy lunch from the various food-stalls available on site.
