An extraordinary concert of world music will be coming to Auckland’s North Shore City.
International musician, Sika plays a unique array of instruments from all around the world. Specializing in Didjeridoo, you will not believe the sounds Sika can get out of a 'hollow piece of wood'. With over 25 years experience, the rhythms and sounds that swirl and burst forth from this ancient Australian instrument are truly mesmerizing & much more than a mere drone; it is capable of sounding like several instruments at the same time, in the hands of one so experienced.
Sika, renowned as a leading exponent of Didjeridoo, combines his musical talents with a deeply ingrained understanding of the healing arts and shamanism. Taught by indigenous elders and medicine people from North America, South America, Europe and Australia, he is often involved in ceremonies, with the intention of bringing peace to the world.
His music and concerts are just this; a deep sense of 'remembering' stirs in his audiences as Sika's highly amusing stories help carry us into the world of vision and power. For this reason, Sika is passionate about sharing his music with children, to inspire them with a vision of hope for now and the future.
“A sound feast unlike anything you have heard”…
"Once you have seen and heard Sika playing, your perception of what the Didjeridoo is about will never be the same again!"
“Sikadoesn’t just play the Didjeridoo, he becomes it”
