Rally New Zealand’s WRC action -- See the world’s best rally drivers in action during Rally New Zealand 2010!
Based in Auckland and running from 6 to 9 May, Rally New Zealand 2010 features the World Rally Championship competitors battling for supremacy on the sweeping gravel roads of Whangarei, Kaipara, Franklin, North Waikato and Raglan districts.
Motorsport fans have scores of opportunities to see the cars and drivers in action, especially as six-time world champion Citroen driver Sébastien Loeb is challenged to the limit by Ford’s star driver Mikko Hirvonen.
Head to Auckland’s Viaduct Harbour for the ceremonial start on Thursday 6 May with driver autograph signing sessions, driver interviews on the start ramp, the official welcome and every competitor going over the start ramp in an exciting display of rally cars.
Get out and see the cars in action – Rally New Zealand’s specially-selected prime spectator points offer the best viewing with all the amenities needed to ensure a family-friendly way to enjoy the rally.
Come and watch the WRC teams at work in the service parks at Queens Wharf, Auckland City (each evening and morning); Quayside Town Basin, Whangarei (Friday lunchtime); and Wainui St, Raglan (Sunday morning). And for a day of motorsport action from start to finish, head to the new Hampton Downs race circuit just south of Meremere for Saturday’s super special tarmac stages and service park.
As well as being a WRC round in 2010, Rally New Zealand counts as a round for the FIA Production World Rally Championship (PWRC), the FIA Super 2000 World Rally Championship (SWRC), the FIA WRC Cup for Teams and the New Zealand Rally Championship.
