Presented by Arts Asia Pacific in association with Power Arts: The Tony Award-winning Broadway Musical Comedy Avenue Q is finally coming to Auckland.

The smash-hit musical has just released new tickets to the Auckland season! New seats are now on sale for shows running from Tuesday 25 to Saturday 6 June.

Since beating Wicked for three major Tony Awards in 2004, Avenue Q has gone on to be one of the longest running shows on Broadway, and remains a huge hit on London’s West End. AVENUE Q comes to Auckland after delighting sell-out audiences across Australia for 10 months in over 300 thrilling performances.

In what can only be described as ‘not your average musical’, Avenue Q features a live-wire group of eccentric characters with everyone from Lucy T. Slut to an internet addict called Trekkie Monster. With songs such as 'The Internet is for Porn' and 'If You Were Gay', Avenue Q is a hilarious, feel-good musical performed by a wonderful cast of puppets and humans.

"Brings the house down" NZ Herald

“I highly recommend it… its like Sesame Street meets South Park.” Rove

“Witty, outrageous satire… one of the hottest tickets in town.” The Age, 2009

“The thing is, AVENUE Q is not a puppet show, Its hard to nail down exactly what it is. It’s a mix of puppet show, theatre, and musical…. The tone of the show moves from sweet and romantic, to crude and cutting, and then philosophical all in one”
Scott Kara, NZ Herald.
