New Works by Carole Prentice - painting, printmaking and jewellery, on display from 12 March- 14th April.

Exhibition opening 5.30pm Friday 12th March.

Carole has a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Elam School of Fine Arts as well as an certificate in Whakairo, Visual Arts from Northtec. In this exhibition Carole presents a series of new works that reflect her perspective of the intersecting space between Pakeha, and Maori as the indigenous people.

Like previous generations of lady `flower painters’ she has sourced imagery of flora from her own backyard at Whangarei’s Bream Head. Floating wreaths of both `indigenous’ and `introduced’ flora coupled together, present the viewer with the opportunity for critical engagement.
