Jess Chambers "Good As Gold"

Experience the magic that is Jess Chambers with support from the "Almost Internationally Famous Whanganui Ukulele Orchestra".

Fresh from her successful collaboration with "The Woolshed Sessions", and recipient of the APRA Best NZ Country Song of 2009 at the Golden Guitar Awards in Gore for "Stringing Me Along", Jess plays Whanganui for the very first time.

Accompanying her, Peter Hill will play 12 string guitar and mandolin. Jess has previously performed with Rhian Sheehan receiving international acclaim for his ambient electronica and Jess' haunting vocals with stunning tracks "Hiding Place" & "Sunshine" off the Tiny Blue Biosphere album.

Jess performed to rousing ovations at WOMAD in 2008, and her album release of that year with the Firefly Orchestra has also achieved much acclaim; being selected in a number of critics' "top 10" choices for album of the year.

A national tour late in 2009 enabled NZers to experience the intimate nature of her performances, and Whanganui folk have a unique opportunity to see Jess for this river city show in March. Falling somewhere between acoustic folk, alt-country, and minimalist pop, Jess is a rare talent not to be missed!
