Frances Hodgkins: Kapiti Treasures reflects the special relationship that the Kapiti district has with New Zealand’s most famous and best-loved expatriate artist, Frances Hodgkins (1869-1947), through work gathered together for the first time from several significant private Kapiti collections.
Frances Hodgkins: Kapiti Treasures includes 30 paintings, drawings and lithographs spanning her development from an accomplished late 19th century genre painter, into a mature and unique artist fully engaged with European modernism.
