A survey exhibition by renowned New Zealand painter Jan Nigro (b.1920), is our feature exhibition in March.

Jan lived and worked on Waiheke Island between 1969 and 1995. While here she produced some of her most significant figurative works and was a regular attendee at the Catherine Mitchell Life Drawing Studio.

The works on show date from the 1960's to a series completed in 2009. A common thread is her exhuberant use of colour and a mastery of drawig that brings her subjects to life. Jan Nigro's Waiheke Post Office commission comprises three iconic works, two hang in the Post Office and the third hangs at the entrance to the Waiheke Community Art Gallery in Oneroa.
