The Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra, the city’s only resident professional symphony orchestra, opens its doors to concert enthusiasts and curious first-timers in a day of wide-ranging musical interaction at the Bruce Mason Centre, TelstraClear Pacific Centre and the Auckland Town Hall.
Our first APO Open Day at Takapuna’s Bruce Mason Centre, will feature backstage tours, Q & As, music demonstrations, masterclasses, exhibits, an on-site violin maker, recitals from North Shore school orchestras and the APO performing excerpts from the William Tell Overture.
The day includes several family friendly features such as the music zoo, instrument making for children, and kid’s colouring areas, as well as courtyard activities.
The APO Open Day is a great opportunity to hear great music and get a closer look at how one of the largest arts organisations in the country works.
Admissions to the public are absolutely free!
