Marching Bay of Plenty is hosting the 2010 New Zealand Marching Championships at Energy Events Centre from 19 to 21 March with the twin sisters, Jools and Lynda Topp, included in the weekend's entertainment.
Events & Venues Rotorua events manager, Emily Pritchard, says the Topp Twins appearance is a fantastic inclusion to wrap up the Gala March on the Friday (19 March).
"The Gala March involves senior teams dancing their own routines to music, with a few drill movements thrown in. Each team chooses their theme and costime with an emphasis on having fun.
"As an added bonus, and continuing the nature of the event, the Topp Twins wil host the evening's celebrations in what we expect will be a laugh-a-minute performance."
Ms Pritcharrd says anyone interested in good old-fashioned Kiwiana sport, mixed with good old-fashioned Kiwiana entertainers is welcome to come along.
Teams will also be marching in display and technical phases on the first two days, to compete for a place in the final championship march on Sunday 21 March
