The Waimarino Rodeo is held in Raetihi over a March weekend each year and is the oldest continuing running rodeo in New Zealand. This is also the last full programme Rodeo of the Rodeo circuit season and attracts top competitors from all around the country. Events include Bare Back, Bull Ride, Saddle Bronc, Rope & Tie, Barrel race, Steer wrestling, Team Roping, and steer and calf rides for the up and coming cowboys. With some great prize money up for grabs The Waimarino Rodeo is an exciting action Packed weekend. Accommodation from just $20 per person is within walking distance of the Showgrounds.
