Papakura District Council proudly presents the third in its 2010 series of free family summer Sunday concerts.

This diverse concert series has seen performances by French Toast, Queen City Big Band, Hammond Gamble and Twisty Willow. The acts are presented on Papakura's awesome new outdoor stage, which features an art installation by acclaimed and awarded New Zealand artist Sara Hughes (www.sarahughes.co.nz).

The final concert in the series, on March 21, features songs from singer, actor and entertainer Leand Macadaan – “Mexi-Doug” from the TV Lotto ads – and a headline set from Kiwi a-capella gospel choir Jubilation, which features many well known New Zealand singers including Rick Bryant, Jennifer Ward-Lealand and Jackie Clarke. They perform classic gospel and spiritual numbers and more recent numbers including songs by Ben Harper, Tom Waits and (occasionally if the audience are friendly!) Bathe in the River, the Don McGalshan song that became a huge hit for Hollie Smith.

Check them out before you make your Sunday picnic plan - you can search Google for Leand, and Jubilation are on YouTube or at www.jubilation.co.nz

Bring a picnic, bring the family, there's plenty of free parking at this free concert - and don't forget there's a great and very safe fully fenced children's playground right alongside the performance area.
