Contemporary Maori art with a truly unique style.
Steve's artwork has brought him into a new lifestyle - a place of belonging and sense of self worth. After 29 years homeless and in & out of prison, a spiritual encounter led him to art. He's self taught and gets his inspiration from inside - "I draw what comes into my head".
Steve's work has been admired by many New Zealand galleries because of its uniqueness. His first exhibition was in June 2009 at the Poi Room.
A number of other prominent artists who have affected Steve's life in a positive way are joining the exhibition - Brad Novak, Ron Knight, Anna Crawley, and Mark Compton.
All are welcome to the opening, or drop in during the exhibition.
