Drag-tastic Songstress Miz Ima Starr dances out onto the Auckland cabaret stage after a dozen years abroad, to dish up a Sen-surround smorgasbord of trash, tears, and triumph over adversity.

Australasia’s Queen of the late-night chanteuses has created Hello Miss American Pie! especially for the Kapai Kabaret season of Aroha 2010, and plans to open up her hope chest of hits especially for her Kiwi fans.

So prepare yourself for a night with the Homecoming Queen herself, as she shares an utterly unique showbiz history told through song, soliloquy and audience seduction. Featuring priceless frocks, cheap shots, free flowing aural acrobatics, and twelve of the greatest songs ever belted out by a busty prima donna.

The performance showcases all the biggest songs and most ridiculous stories from her trio of hit shows – ‘Born Free’, ‘Welcome to Wherthehellawee’ and ‘Up the Disco’ – as well as new songs from her upcoming studio album ‘Start the Crescendo!’ and anecdotes from her televisual triumphs in Australia’s Got Talent and Beauty and the Bear.

Starr spent virtually every moment of the 90’s touring Aotearoa in her one-woman cabaret shows. Then she tearfully bolted from her adopted homeland and spent all of the Noughties amassing acclaim, recordings, commissioned festival shows, and prime-time TV appearances in Australia.

Hello Miss American Pie! is a musical and televisual reintroduction to one of Australasia’s most indelible character comediennes. So don't miss this opportunity to have your life irrevocably altered by New Zealand’s own one-woman entertainment earthquake!

“Bracewell's talent to beef out a Garland tune is tour de force showbiz and his gift for impersonation, sheer mimicry in motion” – Canberra Times

“A truly glamorous drag queen who sings her own songs – part Joan Crawford and part Michael Crawford. Simply the funniest, most outrageous female impersonation act in years” – Adelaide Advertiser
