Nga Tukemata - The Awakening celebrates the mana of the local iwi Ngati Kahungunu and their tipuna (ancestors), and the amuri (life essence), the ihi (power) and the wehi (awe) which they feel for their taonga (treasures).
Discover Ngati Kahungunu places as tangata whenua (indigenous people of the land) and recognise an art tradition which equals any in the world.
