Creative Hawke’s Bay’s monthly Lecture Series at the HB Museum & Art Gallery features an eclectic range of international and national speakers presenting a variety of topics from urban design to art history, fashion and architecture.

The Lecture Series provides a forum in which creative people are encouraged and challenged to think about a number of topics that relate to art, culture and design in a broad frame of reference.

Always entertaining, often controversial and definitely stimulating, the 2010 Lecture Series will be launched with a special presentation by New York based New Zealand artist Max Gimblett on Tuesday 2nd March 2010. Tickets are $10 and we strongly advise you pre-book at Creative Hawke's Bay.

Following Max’s presentation, the Lecture Series will continue on the second Tuesday of each month until November.

All lectures are held at the HBMAG and start at 7.00pm. Admission is $10 and payable at the door on the night.

Speakers for April through to November are being scheduled at present and include art critic Hamish Keith, photographer Marti Friedlander, urban designer Ludo Campbell-Reid, filmmaker Gaylene Preston, architect Ian Athfield, fashion designer Miranda Brown, design writer Douglas Lloyd Jenkins and art historian Dr Damian Skinner in conversation with artist Para Matchitt.

For more information about the Lecture Series and the confirmed line up of speakers and topics, please watch your local paper, check our website www.creativehawkesbay.co.nz, the Hawke’s Bay Museum & Art Gallery website www.hbmag.co.nz and publicity material.
