Contender Series 2

Submission Wrestling Event
Contender Series is to be made up of

* 4 Male divisions

* 2 female divisions

* Weights are yet to be decided but are envisioned to be -70, -80,-90, +90 for males, and -70, +70kgs for females.

* These weights are flexible and will change dependant on entries.

* Each division will be split into two pools of four competitors. Pools will be randomly selected, though where possible competitors from the same gym will be separated.

* Each pool will be fought off round-robin style.

* Progression from Pool play will be decided in following order….

1) Number of submission wins
2) Number of overall wins
3) Weight differential (where lighter fighter progresses)

* The top two competitors from each pool will progress to final rounds, which are to run elimination style, to find eventual winner.

* Any drawn matches will result in a two minute overtime period, whereby points or submission will declare the victor.

* If there is no winner after overtime period then the lighter fighter shall progress in the tournament.

* Trophies will be presented to division winners.

* Sponsor prizes will also be awarded to competitors.

* Entry is $20 per applicant payable on the morning of the event.

* All entries must be registered with contender@icnzMMA.co.nz

* Spectator cost is $2 per person. No cameras or video will be allowed at the event. All matches will be recorded by ICNZ staff and made available through www.icnzMMA.co.nz
