2010 Run Kids Series - Race 3

A 5 race fun Series designed to get kids active.
5 cool Auckland locations within parks and reserves to ensure safety.
2km or 4km in distance depending on age.
Open to 7-14 year olds.
Loads of cool activities at each race.
Starts Summer 2010 Jan-March.

The Run Kids series is a fun run or walk aimed at children aged 7 to 14 years of age. There will be five races held fortnightly over the greater Auckland area. Each race will be a 2km route with children aged 7 to 10 doing one lap (2km) and children aged 11 to 14 will do two laps (4km).

ThE Run kids Series is aimed to provide children a conducive environment to exercise and keep healthy with people of similar age. It will also provide a good opportunity for parents to get their children out of the house and do something healthy without the hassle of team sport trainings.

According to OECD Health Data New Zealand is the 3rd most obese nation. This is also shown by one in twelve (8.3%) children aged 2 to 14 being obese. Run Kids like the Run Auckland Series is determined to provide opportunities for children to get healthy through running as it is the most efficient form of cardiovascular exercise which aids in the weight loss process.

There will be the Run Kids Family Cup & Schools Cup (large and amall) which will be presented to the top family and achool at the completion of the Run kids aeries. These mini competitions within the Run kids Series are aimed at getting groups of friends and families active together.

There will also be vendors and fun activities after the race for kids to interact and have fun after the races.

Entry Fee for the event will be kept to a minimal $10 to enable more kids to participate.

So come along and have a go and tell all your friends because this will be huge.
