Up to 20 hot air balloons take part in a three-day balloon extravaganza - one of New Zealand’s most spectacular events! Balloons launch each day at around 7.15am in a breathtaking display.
At dawn on Friday 19 March the balloons make a mass ascension from Clareville Showgrounds near Carterton. On Friday evening they join the Wairarapa College gala in Masterton out of and over the college grounds, followed by a firey burner parade through Carterton at 8.00pm. Saturday and Sunday are exciting mornings of competition and fun over Masterton’s Henley Lake (Sat) and over Masterton (Sun). All these events are FREE!
Don’t miss the spectacular Trust House Night Glow on Saturday 20 March at Masterton’s Colin Pugh Sports Bowl - a magical evening where the tethered balloons light up the night sky in a dazzling display set to music. Family entertainment from 6.30pm. Gates open at 6.00pm. Adults $5, children $3, under 5s free. Tickets available at the gate.
