Reiker Cycles Wee McGregor Mountain Bike Race

This 40km High Country adventure mountain bike race begins at the regional park then follows good gravel roads along the lake shore before making a 350mtr climb up a rough 4WD track to an historic mustering hut.

From here catch views of the Southern Alps, Mackenzie basin and Lake Tekapo. Start a very long 22km of gradual descent on rough 4WD tracks, cross the Edward stream and get an appreciation of the Mackenzie High Country as you mountain bike along the foot of the the Two Thumb Range, past Wee McGregor, a 1138m high mini mountain.

The track gradually improves closer to the Pines (start area). The ride takes between 2 to 4 hours. A good level of fitness is required and a good suspension bike - it's bumpy in places!

All entries received prior to 15th March will receive a free hot pool pass (to be used 20th/21st March 2010, non transferrable for cash).

Late entries taken on the day, entries after 15th March have a $10 late fee, late entries will not be eligible for a free pool pass.
