The New Zealand Series of Poker or NZSOP is New Zealand's newest and best poker series. The series is run in bars throughout New Zealand and offer heaps of new awesome features that we are sure will blow you away.
The Poker

Here at The Bahama Hut we play one of the fastest growing games in the world - No Limit Texas Hold'em Poker. Texas Hold'em consists of the player creating the best five card hand possible by using the two 'hole cards' dealt to them and the five community cards or 'the board'.
The Prizes

* First place wins $150 cash
* Second place wins $50 cash + $50 bar tab
* Third - Tenth place wins a $20 bar tab
* Plus $20 Bar Tab if you take out the previous weeks winner

The New Zealand Series of Poker (NZSOP) is the best way to play texas hold'em poker in a social, fun and competitve environment. Players compete in nightly events for bar tabs and of course lots of cash, and the best thing is - it's completely free to play. At no point will we ask you for money to play.
The Rankings

The NZSOP Rankings are what make NZSOP so great and unique to play. We have come up with a very comprehensive formula, which calculates every players ranking compared to every other player - every time you play! For the first time ever you will truly be able to see who is the no.1 player in a fair way. Your ranking is based on an average of your previous 15 weeks performance with a ranking bonus for winning so consistent results with the odd win is the key to a good ranking.
Tournament Structure

No doubt you want to know how the tournaments work and more importantly how you win cash!

The basic NZSOP tournament structure is a ten week tournament followed by a final where you'll play for a minimum of $5000 cash.

You'll qualify by finishing in the top ten at your home venue. There are no regionals, you'll only need to qualify once to make the main event.

However, this is not the only way you can win cash. Every five weeks we hold special invite only tournaments for a selection of top ranked players. Keep visiting the website to see how to qualify.
