We have the privilege to bring you DJs Xample and Lomax during orientation week 2010.

Live and direct from the UK, two of the biggest names of drum and bass today.

Both signed to Andy Cs record label RAM (with their new album coming out as we speak) Xample and Lomax have been absolutely tearing apart the U.K with their party/jump up style of music. They are ready to do business at Sammy’s and show you what Drum and bass is all about

Cast your mind back to Phat 09 when Andy C Came on stage at midnight and opened with an absolute smasher which just happened to be a tune by Xample and Lomax call Remember, now you don't have to go all the way out of Dunedin because its coming to here live to you.

With local support from: Titts Magee, B.C Ninja, Mohanz, Satch, FSOD, MC Cypher.

This will be one gig not to miss out on and a night not to forget.

Having grown up in Bristol Xample has always been surrounded by the sounds of drum and bass and the love of this music lead to him buying his first set of turntables. After relocating to Liverpool, he teamed up with the local DJ/producers Sol and Futurebound and became a regular at nights around the North West, playing at some of the best nights in Manchester, Liverpool and Leeds. Around this time, Xample decided he wanted to try his hand at producing and before to long had notched up releases on labels such as Hard leaders, Penny Black and L plates.

In 2005 Xample moved back to Bristol and continued to work hard on shaping his sound, soon attracting interest from Andy C and the rest of the Ram camp, which lead to Xample signing to Frequency for a couple of 12s, before giving Ram his first track, 'Heaven And Hell', for the well received Dimensions EP, and also on Andy C's nightlife 3mix CD.

Following the signings of Subfocus and Chase & Status, Ram saw the massive potential of Xample and signed him. His first single for label, 'Lowdown/The Latter' was released in May 2007 to heavy dancefloor exposure and great reviews. 'Get Out Clause/Infamous' - out in December 2008 confirmed his status, and the recently released 'Contra'/'Keep Their Heads Ringin' shows how Xample has blossomed into a first class producer, with his own, unique sound, and will shortly follow his labelmates Chase & Status and Subfocus with working on his debut album.

Hailing from Amersham in Bucks, Nick Hill AKA Lomax has always had a very musical background. A piano player from a young age, and with a degree in music behind him, he was first introduced to drum & bass by the sounds of LTJ Bukem and John B back in 1997, and from then on he began producing in 2000.

As the original member of cult drum and bass collective HoldTight, Nick had several releases on such labels as Industry, Renegade and React to name just a few, Nick has been extremely busy on the production front since 2003, when HoldTight's first two tunes, 'Dirty Habits' and '925' were championed by Andy C and licensed for the Nightlife compilation and J Majik's Fabric mix CD. HoldTight were also responsible for the much talked about official D&B remix of Candi Staton's dance classic 'You've Got The Love', remixing the UK hip hop anthem 'UK Bubblers' by Skitz, Rodney P and Skeme, and also remixing for Hospital Records covering Cyantific's 'Output'. Following HoldTight's album release, Lomax spread his wings and went solo, pursuing a more minimal sound.

Tickets available from Cosmic Corner.
