Ten foot tall and bulletproof, Minuit march through Dunedin Friday 19 March.
With support from Ed Muzik and the Burning Sensations
“First and foremost Minuit is a live act”, says Paul Dodge, one third of the jet-setting electro act. “Thats where the songs come alive and often the whole room sings along. You gotta see that. You gotta hear that.”
Trusted with some primo slots at festivals this summer: before Peaches in the BigDayOut's Boiler Room; after Lupe Fiasco and before Basement Jaxx at Splore; headlining the electronic stage at HomeGrown; following Fat Freddy's Drop to close the day at Rippon where 5000 people belted out in unison the lines from 'Aotearoa' - “you and me we are a New Zealand”
With songs like Wayho, Aotearoa, 25 Bucks, as well as a back catalogue that includes Fuji, Menace, Boy with the Aubergine Hair, Djordj, Except You, I Hate Guns, they can make you laugh, cry, shudder from bass overload. Minuit is an institution with an underground reputation that can enthral.
Grey's Anatomy even chose a Minuit track for their new season!
March is your chance to check them out and decide for yourself.
“[Despite] an album title as dark as midnight, Minuit's music is often as joyful as a fat kid with cake” - Rolling Stone magazine
“You don't have to be a fan of electronic music to enjoy this album” - Scene Magazine, Australia
“The shimmering 'I'm Still Dancing' (recently on Grey's Anatomy) beats New Yorkers' Telepathe at their own game" - Rave Magazine, Australia
