It’s party time at the Otago Museum on 21 March. This Otago Anniversary weekend, we invite you to let your hair down with all kinds of local, national and international music and entertainment on the Museum Reserve – and best of all, it’s free!

Bring your picnic blanket, your friends and family and spend the day. More than just a concert, The Big Get Together is a festival the whole family can embrace. Running from 11am through to 5pm on Sunday 21 March, the day will be jam-packed with fantastic acts and activities.

Performances will be going on right through the day. The Funky Monkeys will be here to get everybody moving and shaking, as well as Asking for Trouble – the craziest use of bubble wrap, hula hoops and boxes you’ve ever seen. The reserve will also be home for an array of buskers and street performers, including Slim Pickings with his crazy sword swallowing and fire juggling antics.

To tempt your taste buds, there’ll be Green Man beer, Gibbston Valley Wines, bacon butties, Mr Kool ice cream and more! Bouncy castles, face painting, rides and activities will all add to the festival atmosphere.

As well as all of this, a show stopping Science Stage will see demonstrations from some of the best Science Communicators in the Asia Pacific region who are in Dunedin as part of the ASPAC conference hosted by the Otago Museum.
