A new play by LAB: Research Theatre Company presented as a part of the Dunedin Fringe Festival.
Directed by Pedro Ilgenfritz
Alfonsina is a comic depiction of a young Argentinean woman who leaves her family to search for a better life. Alfonsina is the heroine clown who cannot avoid trouble. Escaping the harsh suburbs of Buenos Aires and arriving in downtown Auckland, she finds a cleaning job. All goes well until she is asked to show her work permit.
Running time: approx 75 mins. No interval
Alfonsina was one of the highlights of Wellington Fringe Festival 2010 and was praised by the audience and critics:
"Excellent direction and three superb performances from the cast" - Ewen Coleman - The Dominion Post
"Fluid ensemble work and impeccable timing" - John Smythe - Theatreview.
LAB: Research Theatre company is an initiative proudly supported by the Unitec research committee.
