The three finalists are:
Harry Ellerm (Christchurch) performing Violin Concerto No5 by Vieuxtemps
Edward King ( Auckland) Cello Concerto No1 by Shostakovich
Emma Yoon ( Christchurch) Violin Concerto Op14 by Barber

They are accompanied by the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra conductor Sir William Southgate.
This is before a panel of three adjudicators.
They compete for prizes of $12,000

The audience also has a chance to vote for who they think is the winner.
