THE Dual Motutapu-Rangitoto Traverse is a mountain bike and off road run event staged on one of the most scenic landscapes in New Zealand - the gulf islands of Rangitoto and Motutapu.
The Dual is a once a year opportunity. At no other time throughout the year are the general public allowed to mountain bike on these islands or participate in an event of this nature. A portion of all entries goes to the Motutapu Restoration Trust to assist with the costs of their replanting and pest management programme.
The Dual offers the opportunity for event goers and adventure seekers to traverse the dual islands of Motutapu and Rangitoto by foot, or on mountain bike.
Entries sold out in 2009 in record time, so be in quick. The DUAL Motutapu - Rangitoto Traverse will be limited.
