Topic: Rodney will talk about his story from the beginning, some one said once “the rise and rise of Rodney Wayne”.

Summer is everyone's favourite time of the year, but it's not just about the arrival of blue skies. It's a time when change is afoot in mood, fashion and certainly in hair.

Rodney Wayne is one of New Zealand’s pioneer franchisors. When he franchised his successful chain of hairdressing salons in the 1980s he was one of the first in the country to adopt the franchise model.

Back in the beginning, when he returned to New Zealand after having his own salon in Melbourne, he knew that if he wanted to build a bigger business he had to do it differently. Patting himself on the back, as he was a good hairdresser, he had to built a very strong following, but he only had one pair of hands so he needed to train other people who could do the quality of work that he was doing....so how did he grow his empire, to be NZ's largest franchised hairdressing group with over 60 outlets Nationwide?
