I love cheese. I really do. When I was a skint backpacker I bought bread rolls and the 'laughing cow' cheese and some tomatoes which got me through Italy! Now I prefer a good Rocquefort or a soft, ripe, traditional camembert with some devine wine to compliment it! I'd eat any cheese. Absolutely any cheese! I love finding different varieties and I reckon there'd be a fair few at the Cheesefest which would put me in cheese heaven! Was that cheesy enough? No? How about this: I love you Eventfinder! I really do! xxx

Cheese bought my parents together and here I am!! Mahoe cheese up North is owned by a lovely Dutch family that took my mum in as a teen and hosted my father's first (and last) visit from the UK. Their union is as fine gouda - time only improves it.

A piece of cheese, if you please, a slice or two is better -
New Zealand true, colby or blue, from goat through brie and feta.
Plain or smoked, I would be stoked to try them all in time
with dips, or plain, with breads or grain, and a mandatory glass of wine!

My cheese is my pet.I like it strong,so that I often hear it banging on the fridge door during the night trying to get out. When I open the door it leaps out at me like a hooligan, knocking me over & biting me on the leg. Then it curls up at the foot of my bed gnawing on my toes.In the morning it wakes me with that ole' Beatles' song
    'Cheese cheese me Whoa yeah
    Like I cheese you!"

I once had a cat who loved cheese
I think he had a disease!
    He'd whine and cajole,
till he got a whole ...
piece he could eat with ease. (boom boom)

    Nothing matches eating cheese
    It uses all my senses
First the colour then the smell
    Weaken my defences

Feel that texture in my mouth
    Crumbly, soft or firm
    Creamy, buttery, rubbery
    Teeth and tongue confirm

    But the pinnacle of joy
    Is the wondrous taste
    Pleasure bursting in my mouth
    Never any waste

Always have cheese in my house
    Cheese can make a meal
    Soufflés, omelettes, sauces, buns
    Cheese is my ideal

I love cheese of every type
    Fresh to well matured
    This will never, ever change
    You can be assured.

Cheese for breakfast, lunch and tea
    Morning snack or supper
Nibble with a glass of wine
    Or a simple cuppa.

I love cheese, my favourite food
    Couldn’t live without
If they take away the cheese
    What is life about?

Ah... great cheeses, each one a gustatory delight; food sex one might say; saliva central. Aromas; pungent, acrid, sweet, peppery. Textures; crumbly, slippery, hard, creamy, slidey. Visuals; ugly, soothing, vertiginous, flat, ovoid. Taste; edgy, relaxing, comforting, challenging. ... Great cheeses, each one adrenalin inducing; some romantic and others an epiphany!

I travelled to UK last summer, and i was visiting the Lake District which in my opinion is beautifull. So we've decided one day to have some cheese and wine for lunch. We bought a variety of cheeses but there was one that cought my eye and certainly my sense of smell...that was the stinky bishop cheese which I found the name hilarious but one of the main characteristics is the strooong smell. When i opened the cheese wrapped in paper it blew me away, that was the most disgusting smell in the world! I had to go outside to breath fresh air!!!. Anyway we sat down to luch and tried the cheese..it was ok is very soft kind of like melting, still the smell made me feel sick. We ve decided to get rid of it and throw it in the garbage...An hour later you could smell the cheese even from outside the house!! So we got rid of the rubbish bag ...and certainly never ever buy again that stinky bishop cheese.!! I love cheese but this is ridiculous!! hahahah.

There once was a girl called Louise
Who was totally addicted to cheese
    'I love Roquefort and Gruyère,
    adore Quarg and Camembert
and fenugreek gouda is the bees knees!'

No meal is complete without cheese and that goes for snacks too.
Whether it is cheese on a baked potato, in a salad, on pasta , not to forget pizza. Cheese goes with apple or on crackers or just a hunk with a piece of bread and glass of wine.....and there are so many varieties to choose from - parmegano, blues, gruyere, aged goudas yum!!

I've been to both the previous CheeseFests: it was fantastic and crowded the first year and fantastic and spacious in 2009. Can't wait to see what added improvements they've made, and hopefully get some bargains at the end. In the meantime I'll entertain myself with this... http://cheeseorfont.mogrify.org/play

My girlfriend is a cheese fanatic, so much so that I can't even repeat what she said when I told her about this event. She spent a few months in Paris, and ever since has been on a quest to recreate her cheese-shop adventures.

Given that this'll be her first week back at uni, she demands I take her to this to cheer her up!

I love cheese so much that last weekend while on holiday in gorgeous Nelson my best friend and I had a double cream brie for dinner followed by sweet chili Philly for dessert!
Also, we went along the first year the cheese festival was open to the public, and 'rescued' some cheese from being donated to the City Mission to share with our work colleagues :)
