It started in a bedroom. It’s been performed in theatres and art galleries around New Zealand and now this intimate and innovative award winning show is returning to Wellington in a fresh new version, ahead of dates in Auckland and Hamilton.

Jack and Eli spend their days hanging out in Eli's bedroom, drinking beers and riffing on movies, music and girls. But when the death of a friend causes Jack to look inside himself, he doesn't like what he sees. This revelation sparks a spiritual journey for the two and they embark on a road trip to James K. Baxter's grave in remote Jerusalem, New Zealand.

Winners of “Best Theatre” in the 2009 NZ Fringe Awards, and “Most Original Production” at the 2009 Chapman Tripp Theatre Awards, this slacker roadtrip odyssey has been revamped for the road. Featuring the technology that time forgot, the mighty Over Head Projector doing things you never thought it could. Watch as the low-fi techno-goodness transforms BATS into Eli’s bedroom, the car, their destination and everywhere in between.

“A stunning success: a young and highly talented playwright’s road trip meditation on life, death, and the whole damned thing. Kent and fellow actor Jack Shadbolt are terrific. It's hip, funny and moving" (Dominion Post)
