You are invited to a two-day Disaster Preparedness Workshop by National Services Te Paerangi, 1 & 2 June 2010, at the Wellington Museum of City and Sea Todd Foundation Room.
Facilitator: Lynn Campbell.
This poutama 3/ level 3 workshop is for museum professionals who have over 5 years experience in the museum sector.
The workshop will cover:
• The art of disaster preparedness
• 10 risk factors to collections
• The disaster plan
• Earthquake Tsunami and city wide disaster preparedness
• Hands on practicals and demonstrations
Currently facilitator Lynn Campbell is the paper conservator at Christchurch Art Gallery. Lynn has a BA Hons in Fine Art and a Post Graduate Degree in Fine Art Conservation and has worked in the UK, Africa and Antarctica. Lynn is a part of and set up the Canterbury Disaster Salvage Team in 1987 after attending a disturbing amount of fires in cultural institutions around the South Island of New Zealand.
You will also meet other museum professionals.
How do I sign up?
The cost of this workshop is $200, which covers the two days, morning, afternoon tea and lunch. Places are limited, please register with Jade Hadfield jadeh@tepapa.govt.nz or call 04 381 7246. Please provide your name, position, organisation, and contact details.
Bring a pen and paper to take notes, and an apron for practicals.
