American volinist Kurt Nikkanen is an international soloist of the highest order. Born in Hartford, Connecticut, he began his violin studies at the age of three and at twelve he gave his Carnegie Hall debut performing with the New York Symphony. Rosemary Barnes is one of New Zealand's most respected resident pianists and has appeared in recital with such artists as Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, Sir Donald McIntyre and Simon O'Neill.

Violin Dances - includes music by Stravinsky, Tchaikovsky, Khachaturian, Glazunov and Prokofiev inspired dance forms.

This will be Mr Nikkanen's New Zealand recital debut and his only North Island appearance on this visit.
