By Dale Wasserman, based on the novel by Ken Kesey.
One sane, can’t leave, one disturbed, free to go at will. Does the state mental rehabilitation ‘machine’ work or can it be beaten by a shrewd game over cards?
What sacrifice must one make for sanity or can insanity be the sacrifice for the sanity of the insane?
Randle Patrick McMurphy, a common convict, convinces the Court of his insanity, committing him to the ‘therapeutic community’ of a mental institution. But is there the possibility that he might be feigning psychosis to escape the drudgery of the work farm? And if so what price must he pay for such a scam?
