Motor Neurone Disease (MND) aka Lou Gehrig's Disease/ALS is a progressive neurological condition which has no known cause, no treatment and no known cure. At any one time, there are approximately 200-250 people in New Zealand who have MND. Other people who have suffered from this illness include: Stephen Hawking, Oscar winner David Niven, daughter of Robert Muldoon - Barbara Williams and Country Calender presenter - Fred Barnes.
