The world famous Beijing Dance Academy, of the Hollywood film Mao's Last Dancer fame, are coming to New Zealand to perform Marks: two shows in Western Contemporary Dance Style and Chinese Contemporary Dance.
The first show on 23 June is "Contemporary Dance Work Collection" and the second show on 24 June is " Spirit of Chi - Chinese Contemporary Dance".
Audiences will enjoy the fusion of Western and Eastern dance styles performed by the energetic young graduates of the Beijing Dance Academy, complimented by dramatic lighting, spectacular backdrops and beautiful costumes.
Unitec New Zealand, who are hosting the Beijing dancers, will also perform an 18-minute piece called "Colony", choreographed by renowned New Zealand dance choreographer, Michael Parmenter.
