The first Dalmatian settlers from what is now Croatia began arriving 150 years ago and were responsible for introducing many traditions to New Zealand, including: the ‘Lamb on a Spit’, the vineyards, the orchards, and the fishing industry.
The distinctive Croatian culinary tradition embraces and puts its own unique spin on a myriad of Central and Eastern European and Mediterranean influences.
Join the Dalmatian Cultural Society for a demonstration of Dalmatian cooking followed by food tastings.
