The 2010 Manawatu International Jazz and Blues Festival presents: Blues Night with Bulfrog Rata and A Swampfulla Blues.
New Zealand is quite clearly filled with jazz talent! Don't let the opportunity to see some of the best at Blues Night pass you by.
Long-time bluesman Bullfrog Rata started out in the late eighties as a busker and graduated to support such acclaimed artists as Junior Wells, Taj Mahal and Jethro Tull as well as leading New Zealand bluesmen Midge Marsden and Shayn Hurricane Wills.
For the 2010 Blues Night's special, Bullfrog will feature many of his friends in concert including his band The Undergaters, Janine Knap, Dean Parkinson, Terry Casey (a fantastic blues harp player from Wellington) and the one and only Mahia Blackmore.
Mahia's warm, powerful voice and personality have won her recognition and respect wherever she appears. Mahia is New Zealand's own queen of rhythm and blues.
