Two of hip hops finest in one show for the first time in New Zealand, Wednesday June 16th at the Powerstation in Auckland.

One of hip-hop’s most poetic and respected lyricists - Common announces his debut New Zealand solo show with Kid Capri.

Common has recorded over 8 critically acclaimed albums including Be where he partnered with Chicago native and rap music megastar Kanye West which garnered four Grammy Award Nominations. His video for the single Testify was nominated for two MTV Video Music Awards including Best Hip-Hop Video.

His seventh album Finding Forever, debuted at #1 on the US Billboard 200 Album Chart and won a Grammy. His next album Universal Mind Control was produced in large part by Pharrell and was also nominated for a Grammy in the category of Best Rap Album.

Like Common, Kid Capri has enjoyed his position as one of the most recognizable and successful players in the Hip Hop game. He rose to fame as resident DJ on Russell Simmons Œ Def Comedy Jam on HBO, where he gave the world a taste of live performance Hip Hop as the first DJ to ever perform live DJ routines on TV.

From there, Kid Capri became the most heavily demanded DJ by some of the industry's most respected entertainers, touring with artists such as Sean P. Diddy Coombs, LL Cool J, Nas, Lil Kim, Jay-Z, Usher, R. Kelly, Mary J Blige, and Trey Songz. In addition to his DJ dominance, Kid has made his mark in the production world. He has produced hits for power players such as Snoop Dogg, Jay-Z, 50 Cent, Slick Rick, Mary J. Blige, and Jermaine Dupri.
