Kushana Bush's gouache works on paper are set in no particular time - figures dance in ancient Egyptian movement yet simultaneously sport coiffure haircuts from the 1950s, they may wear a modern wristwatch and have 15th century Korean shoes...

Intensely detailed, her works bear resemblance at times to Indian miniature painting, sometimes to Japanese woodblock prints, oftentimes early Italian painting. Her eponymously titled exhibition is her third with the Brett McDowell Gallery.
