Gifts of our Ancestors, an extravaganza of Māori-Nesian Music & Performing Arts.
Featuring:
- Ruia Aperahama. Ruia's brand of music is a roots/world crossover sung in Te Reo Māori and English. A gifted singer/signwriter, Ruia is adept on a variety of musical instruments including saxophone, keyboard and guitar as well as a superb and passionate vocalist.
- Whirimako Black, New Zealand's soul diva, Whirimako has built up a loyal jazz, blues and Māori fan base with her sublime te reo Māori and English songs. Undoubtedly she is one of the country's finest musicians.
- Sista Waitoa. Sista is a talented singer and song writer who will be performing tracks from her soon to be released album Kōkupu. Kōkopu is a 10 track album with genres from dub, R&B pop and organic Māori fusion.
- Rare Shot Blue, Kommi and Hideto present their unique style of music - electronc glitch-hop and electronic punk-rap. Rare Shot Blue will also be releasing an album later this year!
There are many more acts including kapahaka, Cook Island Cultural Group, reggae, contemporary dance and opera.
Te Koha is a show for all age groups who enjoy a variety of acts, where you get a bit of everything to keep you entrigued throughout the show!
