Alban Arthan -The Ancient Celtic Celebration of the Winter Solstice at Stonehenge Aotearoa.
The Members of the Grove of the Summer Stars and of the Order of Bards, Ovates and Druids, invite you to attend and participate in the most ancient Druid ritual of Alban Arthan - the Winter Solstice - within the stones of Stonehenge Aotearoa.
Winter Solstice dinner and Presentation: After the ceremony (approx 6pm) we travel to the R.S.A. Carterton (10 minutes drive) to be greeted by a roaring fir and Winter Solstice Dinner - roast pork with roast vegetables, followed by pudding. Vegetarian meals are also available and must be ordered when making your booking. Children's meal is sausage rolls, savouries and pudding.
Our after dinner speaker is astronomer Richard Hall who will deliver a special presentation on the Winter Solstice and ancient Celtic star-lore. The bar will be open and guests are welcome to stay on and socialise after the presentation.
Bookings are essential: Fee includes the ceremony at Stonehenge, the Solstice Dinner and presentation at the R.S.A.
