Artsight's School Holiday programmes provide an opportunity for kids and teens to learn about and make artworks in a fun and inspiring atmosphere. Morning and afternoon classes are available for 5-12 year olds.The three hour sessions explore a range of artists and media and processes with all students completing beautiful pieces of art to bring home.
Monday 5th July
Drawing on your imagination 9am-12pm (5-10 years)
A fun workshop where you will use a variety of drawing techniques. Choose from some of our images or bring something to draw (and your imagination).
Outside the frame 1pm-4pm (5-10 years)
Painter Miranda Parkes makes vibrant 3 dimensional paintings on pieces of canvas much bigger than the size of the frame. Learn about her techniques and make your own painting that comes outside of the frame.
Tuesday 6th July
Monoprint 9am-12pm (5-10 years)
Take part in this fun printmaking workshop looking at some printmaking techniques used by New Zealand artists and make a series of stunning one-off prints to keep.
Still Life 1pm-4pm (10 + years)
Learn some drawing techniques and create a vibrant still life painting on canvas.
Wednesday 7th July

Learn some drawing techniques and create a vibrant still life painting on canvas
Brooching the subject 1pm-4pm (8+ years)
This workshop looks at the beautiful work of jewellers and artists Octavia Cook and Areta Wilkinson. Make a stunning brooch and silhouetted artwork in a display case.
Thursday 8th July
Layers of colour 9am-12pm (5-12 years)
Learn how to use a printing press to create beautiful kaleidoscope prints using layers of colour.

Friday 9th July

Take part in this fun printmaking workshop looking at some printmaking techniques used by New Zealand artists and make a series of stunning one-off prints to keep.
Signs and Symbols 1pm-4pm (5-12 years)
In this workshop you will look at the imagery used by New Zealand artist Richard Killeen and learn how to use signs and symbols to create a stunning painting on canvas.
All courses are $30 and include all materials and morning or afternoon tea. Book 2 or more places and receive a 10% discount. There is an additional $6 charge for children staying over the lunch hour.
