Rated at the time by Catherine de la Roche, The Dominion Post film reviewer, as one of the best children's films ever made, Rangi's Catch stars the young Temuera Morrison as Rangi. At the age of eleven he was cast in a lead role after director Michael Furlong spotted him performing in a Maori cultural group.
