Friends of Rotorua Museum of Art & History present a talk by local artist Don Hunt, in which he will examine the history of the religious icon and explain the processes used to create the finished work.
Don is a local artist who has had an interest in historical and ecclesiastical motifs for a number of years, including painting icons, making leadlight windows and teaching calligraphy.
In May 2010 he attended an icon painting workshop in Shropshire, which was run by Aidan Hart, one of the foremost iconographers in the UK.
