Brad Scott, volcano surveillance coordinator at GNS Science, provides a fascinating insight into what some of volcanoes are up to, and how you can keep your own eye on the local scene.
In this lecture, Brad Scott, volcano surveillance coordinator at GNS Science, will delve into the big picture, looking at what our volcanoes are up to, as well as touching on volcanoes in the Tongariro National Park, the Rotorua-Taupo area, Taranaki, Auckland and White Island. He will also explain how the GeoNet project (our national geological hazards monitoring of earthquakes, volcanic unrest, and tsunami) collects its data from volcanoes and how you can keep your own eye on the local scene.
Entry to the event is free with admission to the museum. Museum admission charges: Adult $12, Child $5.50, Family (1 adult & 3 children) $16, Family (2 adults & 3 children) $28.
