To fossick, reuse, reinvent and create a piece of art. This was the challenge for three of the Letham’s sculptors in this mixed medium show.
Dave Carson, well known for his fantastic weaving of saw blades, has turned his hands to producing sculptural pieces using items from a dismantled piano. Wire and wooden keys making flowing and magical wall pieces.
Glass artist Jenny Mcleod has been recycling old beer bottles slumping them in her kiln and molding images into the surface. Her work is always evocative of the pacific and these pieces are no exception.
Mixed media artist Deborah Walsh has used felted wool and old wooden pieces to mould skeleton heads. Her work is always joyful in creativeness while at the same time often having that dark edge that so challenges people. Deborah’s work because of the nature of its unique materials is always in great demand and these pieces will not disappoint.
