Most writers want feedback on their work and a writing group can be the perfect way to get it – and hone those analytical skills at the same time.

This workshop lays out the practical nuts and bolts of setting up and running a useful writing group. It discusses the benefits of belonging to an effective group, how to find a group that best serves your goals and how to avoid the pitfalls. It also advises participants how to give and receive constructive criticism.

NB: This workshop concludes with a “speed dating” opportunity to meet other writers and find potential group members.

Tutor Kathryn Burnett is a screenwriter, tutor, script consultant and playwright who has worked with numerous writers both students and professionals. She belonged to the same writers’ group for five years and knows first hand what an asset an effective group can be to any writer.
