Magick Earth events are gatherings and celebrations for people who follow the earth and nature based faiths, religions and beliefs. They are essentially focused on...
• family and community
• networking and community building through discussions and public forums
• the sharing of information through workshops and lectures
• the celebration of pagan and heathen music, art and culture
Since March 2005 there have been 11 successful Magick Earth Festivals held around the North Island.
The difference between Magic Earth and other festivals is that nobody is paid to do anything so we can keep the costs down and we encourage participation by everybody and create a community effort to help each other and share our knowledge and experience.
Each Magick Earth event features stalls, lectures, workshops and discussion forums as well as rituals appropriate to the timing or theme of the festival. Some have drumming circles or bardic circles. They have also become a place for folks to get together for rites of passage ceremonies such as Wiccanings (or Namings) and Handfastings (Weddings).
Magick Earth is a very family friendly place, most of us have kids and they enjoy mixing togeather and entertaining each other in a loosly supervised environment.
It is about honouring our Earth Mother, our ancestors, celebrating our individual chosen paths and connecting with like-minded souls from many different traditions.
The venue will be the same lovely Waitawheta Camp I have organised the last 2 Magick Earth Hollyfrost events at.
The venue has lots of dorm space (bunks for about 120 people) and heaps of undercover areas to handle inclement weather.
The price includes dorm bunk bed accomodation and dinners from Friday night through to Sunday morning. Other meals are available to purchase at a reasonable price from the Magick Kitchen or you can bring your own. You may also bring your own tent and camp if you so desire.
So I welcome any and all who wish to come along and get yourself a weekend dose of uplifting pagan community spirit.
Tell any friends and family who may be interested about it.
At this time we would also like suggestions of lectures and workshops you would like to attend and suggestions of people who could have their arm twisted to offer these workshops.
Only stall holders who are compatable with our community will be there and they include:
Pebbles & potions - purveyors of new age and pagan stuff including books, cards, crystals, drums, dragons, feng shui, fire stuff, giftware, herbs, incense, jewellery, oil vaporizers, pagan supplies, salt lamps, tarot & bags.
The Quest of Paeroa - herbs, jewellery, giftware etc
Kerrys Coffee Pot - real coffee, hot chocolate etc
Assorted readers and healers will also be there
Day visitors are welcome on Sat $3 per adult, kids free
