Inaccessibility and isolation have protected Zanskar from cultural change. Today it is the last place on earth where the original Tibetan Buddhist way of life still exists. Prompted by the Dalai Lama, two monks select seventeen of the poorest children from Zanskar to be educated so their cultural heritage will not be lost. It begins with an impossible ten day trek to the other side of the snow-covered Himalayas. This is their journey......
