This is a play about insanity, stupidity and humour.
This hilarious modern classic has as its central character Randle P McMurphy. He is a charming rogue who sets out to undermine the authorities in a mental hospital. His mischievous sense of humour and anarchic behaviour cause ahaos as he encourages the other inmates to stand up for themselves against the vindictive Nurse Ratched.
McMurphy has been sentenced to a term of confinement (until he is deemed better) to a psychiatric ward. It was either this or prison, so the former was chosen naturally.
All too crazy!
By contrast the patients of the mental institution volunteered to be there. This seems extremely odd at first....but as Cuckoo's Nest progresses one sees the long term effect that conditioning can have on people. The play is extremely funny until....well, it isnt!
Don't miss this hilarious but moving modern classic.
